Been meaning to post this for a while. An X-mas LAN party will be had at my place! Date undecided, since I don't know who can show up when. Hence the vote. Dates chosen based on not being adjacent to an already planned drinking trip, society whatsit etc. If people choose a Mon/Tues date than there'd obviously be no 40k on that Tues due to space.

If more people want to come than I have chairs for (i.e., more than 5) I will buy more chairs.

Games! Have them installed and ready to go people, wasting half the time due to installing sucks. Borrow or grab the internet edition in advance if possible.

Call of Duty, 4 or World of War depending on what more people have/want.

Dawn of War
TF2
Left 4 Dead, if people have it. Be a good one to play at night in the dark :D
RTCW?
Will add more if people want, and suggestions are sensible and we can get installed quickly.
 
Not using Wireless now so connection problems should be non-existant. Will need to borrow a switch.

I can theoretically lend a Laptop to play on (Dual-Core, 2 GB RAM, Geforce 8400, so things would be playable), with a mouse (!), if anyone wants to come but can't bring a tower.

Pretty sure NATO has dibs on my spare monitor.

I think that this: Mon Dec 29 to Tue Dec 30 is an especally terrible idea since there are plans for a super Pub trip on the 28th, and I'd rather not be lanning hungover, and Im assumeing something vuagely all night might manifest on the 31st, so being cuaght up on sleep by then is probably good.

The other options, I could live with.

I have no problems with those games, assumeing I can resolve my steam issues by then.
I would have to buy Left 4 Dead, so let me know if thats a deal breaker.

Mon Dec 29 to Tue Dec 30 I wouldn't much want to do either, due to aforementioned drinking, I just listed it in case by some unlikely happenstance it was the only time everyone was free for a LAN.

Other suggested games seem fine though I'd have to dig up a couple of them, never got the SupCom x-pac.

Useful people who vote without posting are useful.

I'm coming home on the train straight from work on Christmas Eve, and will only have my laptop with me, so shall not be participating. If it is held on the latter date, I might turn up and socialise or something for a bit. From an entirely selfish point of view, any other set of dates would be best for me, as that would allow for other social activities which I can better attend/contribute to.

Cannot be bothered bringing computer on train again, so probably can't make this. As Kris said, might turn up and socialise for a bit but no computer.

20 to 21 < - This would be best day save the 29 to 30
21 to 22 < - See bellow.
22 to 23 < - Bad week due to proximity to Christmas. I need time to head down to Aber, I was planning on Monday itself.
29 to 30 < - Would be ok but seemingly vetoed, I want to head back up for new years so *shrug* This is what I voted for.

Also what kind of back -o- box connection would I need ? just a bog standard Ethernet port?

As for Trout 4, I would prefer modern warfare ? I don?t really enjoy WWII shooters however if you guys feel like playing I can entertain myself with mapping and or porn :p

UT in some form is something that I've not played on LAN since GOTY in about '01. I have UT3 installed (internet edition, Key that came with) and own no other variation.

Never even played Renegimp, would be willing to try it out if someone brings it.

A roll call is good. What with buying chairs. I have no way of knowing who's actually voted on the poll if they haven't posted, so I will assume that those coming are:

Also, 6 and 8 are the numbers that work best for LANning

More then 8 renders a lot of Strats unplayable
7 means uneven teams
Less then 6 makes a lot of shooters unplayable.

Unlike some people, I do not bear murderous feelings to MHP and would quite welcome him in my house.

Ben is invited via general "Hay people on HF/my LJ flist come to LAN party" inviting but he may just fail at acknowledging this.

Dave's not a bad idea, he lives like 2 blocks from here so it's not exactly a stretch to get his shit down here.

EA isn't a gamer, unless you count Furcadia, which you shouldn't because it's not so much a game as a horrificly low-rez yiffing tool.

I wouldn't say I know Rich Whitty well enough to invite him to anything. Plus he creeps me out a bit. More so than Creepy Simon.

Poll has changed, now is for dates you CANNOT make, please revote. Note that I can't change to allow people multiple votes, so this may be a little redundant.

Post in the thread anyway with dates you DO NOT WANT and ones you prefer, say

so I can make a wonderful SteveLabs? style chart to work out when the fuck to do this thing.
